Happy Halloween!

This year we decided to go in several different directions with costumes. Attman wanted to be a dragon, so we built his costume out of some clothes from the DI and a bunch of cardboard, and some sponges. We painted the shirt to look like a dragon belly and then glued the sponges all the way down his back. I made a tail out of a bunch of fabric that I bought to make Atticus some onesies when he was an infant (ha ha!). I love the way it turned out! Junie's princess dress started out as a DI dress as well. I added some ribbon, a bunch of tulle, and I braided the tulle to form a trim for the waistband. I found that great wig for 27 cents, and then made a crown out of a teddy bear accessory! Talmage wanted to be bumblebee (again) so I painted a helmet that Ridge and Holden had given him and morphed it into a transformer helmet by adding a little bit of tin foil and the autobot symbol. I had big plans to make Indi into a dalmation, but once she saw her big sister's pretty princess attire she whould have none of that. Her little yellow dress was actually one of the dresses that the flower girls wore at my wedding. With the addition of the yellow cape from the dress up bin and a crown, she was all set! For my Cruella Deville costume I sprayed my hair black and white, and then wore one of Junie's sparkly red dresses around my neck. ... and the most expensive part??... was the speeding ticket I got on the way home from the craft store. When I walked in the door Jordan said, "WOW! you're fast!" and I said, "Um, apparently too fast." Jord had a hay day with that. He kept teasing me that I looked and DROVE like Cruella. Pity that I don't have her bank account as well.

Ok, ROCK ON!!!! Everyone looks great!!! I'm loving the dragon! Attman even posed with his hands in dragon stance in the first pic. Everyone looks wonderful. I love the ribbon on June's dress and your cruella hair is rock'in. Didi looks great and yellow and I love your new take on bumblebee. I could ramble on and on, but you get the point!!

Dear Cruella Deville, You are totally awesome!! What a woman, and what a creation. No wonder you won the prize!!! Your creative abilities top the list. I cannot even imagine the hours spent on all of these costumes, but the results are worth every bit of the time you invested. Thank-you so much for all of the fantastic pictures.
